The 2006/2007 Literature Finalists
In 2006/2007, 18 potential protégés across six artistic disciplines were selected from 124 candidates in 52 countries. The finalists - five women and 13 men from 15 countries - then met the mentor in their discipline. Each mentor chose the finalist who seemed best suited for the year of guidance and inspiration. Yasser Abdel Latif
Yasser Abdel Latif, 36, is a writer, scriptwriter and poet who works as a freelancer and for the Egyptian radio and television union, based in Cairo.
Nadine Bismuth
Nadine Bismuth, 30, an author from Montreal, Canada, recently completed the screenplay of her first novel, Scrapbook.
Ala Hlehel
Ala Hlehel, 32, an Israeli citizen of Palestinian origin, is based in Acre, Israel, where he works as an independent writer, editor, scriptwriter and translator.
