Lee Serle, Untitled

February 2011 - Lee Serle, 2010-2011 Dance Protégé

Faced with the task of choreographing a new work for an artistic gathering in November 2011, young Australian dancer Lee Serle sat in his New York loft, reflecting, daydreaming and seeking an inspiring idea. Before too long, an idea cristallized in the choreographer’s imagination – to show in movement what he was experiencing, the process of seeking inspiration for an artistic work. The result is Untitled, a work in progress. Untitled “is not about anything at the moment – it is in the early stages, a small idea,” says Serle. “The image of waiting for an idea to come then became the idea.”
